Domain Extension Search & TLD Comparison

Explore domain extension search by comparing .com, .io, .ai and other TLDs. Review brand fit, registration considerations and public lookup coverage.

Prices vary by registrar, name and term. This tool does not provide registration or renewal quotes.

.com

A broad home for a brand

A fit for

Businesses and products that want a category-neutral address.

Before registering

  • Compare the complete spelling, including any modifier you need.
  • Distinguish a new registration from an aftermarket offer; confirm renewal and transfer terms.

.io

A technical brand direction

A fit for

Developer-facing products whose audience understands the full address.

Before registering

  • It is a country-code TLD; review current registry policies and continuity information.
  • Confirm registration length, renewal cost, and transfer conditions at your registrar.

.ai

An AI-focused brand direction

A fit for

Products where artificial intelligence is a lasting part of the proposition.

Before registering

  • It is a country-code TLD; verify current eligibility, minimum term, and registry conditions.
  • Compare the full registration and renewal totals over the same period.

.dev

Built around development

A fit for

Developer tools, documentation, engineering portfolios, and technical projects.

Before registering

  • .dev is HSTS-preloaded. Prepare HTTPS and a valid certificate before serving the website.
  • Confirm name-specific premium conditions, renewal, and registrar support.

.app

An address for a product

A fit for

Web and mobile apps, product homes, release notes, and download pages.

Before registering

  • .app is HSTS-preloaded. The website needs HTTPS with a valid certificate.
  • Check renewal and premium terms; domain registration does not reserve an app-store name.

.co

A compact brand option

A fit for

Brands that can clearly communicate the exact ending to their audience.

Before registering

  • Test possible confusion with the same spelling on .com, including email.
  • It is a country-code TLD; verify current policy, renewal, and transfer conditions.

.org

A home for shared purpose

A fit for

Communities, initiatives, open projects, and organisations with a clear mission.

Before registering

  • Choose it for audience fit; the ending does not certify nonprofit status or trustworthiness.
  • Review registry policies and the registrar’s registration, renewal, and transfer terms.

.net

A network-minded option

A fit for

Networks, infrastructure, services, or a brand that naturally fits the ending.

Before registering

  • Check the matching name on other endings and whether customers may confuse them.
  • Confirm exact-name availability and the current renewal and transfer terms.

Domain Extension Search for the Same Name

A domain extension search starts with the exact name and the audience you want to reach. Compare alternative domain extensions before adding more possibilities. The same root under .com, .io and .ai represents separate registrations and may lead to unrelated organisations. Use these cards to understand context, then run the selected combinations through the main checker.

This page is a comparison reference, not a second availability tool. The domain extension checker on the homepage checks the combinations you choose, with at most 20 resulting domains per request. Looking at an ending here does not establish that a particular name is available or that the registry accepts every applicant.

Compare Brand Fit Before Registration Cost

Use a domain extension search to test how the complete address reads and sounds. Ask someone to repeat it after hearing it once. Consider possible confusion with the same name on another ending, including misdirected email. For research, open existing websites and establish whether they actually offer a comparable product; a matching root alone is not enough.

Registration price, renewal price and premium conditions can differ by name and registrar. We do not supply current quotations. Compare equivalent periods and the same currency directly with the registrar, then check transfer and renewal rules. An extension choice does not guarantee search rankings or make an unfamiliar product easier to understand.

What TLD Coverage Means

The broader TLD catalog and the supported public registration services are different lists. Some endings do not publish a supported RDAP or WHOIS service, impose restrictions or temporarily limit requests. A domain extension search can therefore return unknown for a valid name. Do not replace that outcome with a guess based on missing DNS records.

Keep a small shortlist of useful extensions and review the result source and observation time. If the TLD search is inconclusive, check the registry or registrar rather than assuming that a name is unregistered. The methodology explains these boundaries and how to read the available registration and DR observations together.
